tina lifestyle blockAfter having just relocated a villa from Auckland to my Whangarei lifestyle block I thought it would be useful to pass on some of my experiences. It pays to initially set up a meeting with your local council and find all the ins and outs of this process. A good finanical advisor is also a must. Projects like this always, always cost more than you planned on. A word of advice: get at least three quotes for every job that requires a tradesman, getting the local handy man down the road as a cheaper option isn't always a wise choice as you still have to get a code of compliance from the local council and their regulations are quite strict. However, it is a rewarding experience when your ideas finally come to life.

The response was good and I have done several estimates for clients in four different regions. These vary greatly but thanks to the magic of the internet can be done fairly quickly and simply. I recently did a bit of exploring in Australia visiting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and practically every small town in between. The small acreage market in Australia is booming and is as diverse as it is in NZ. Values are similar in both countries but the roads are definitely easier to drive on in Australia! goodGround is now in a position to offer the same estimate of value service to our Australian clients.
