Bianco pumps.

Goodground user Laura, from a Lifestyle block in kerikeri has this to say about her Bianco pump, which she purchased through goodground 3 months ago:

"Our new water sysyem is fabby! Thanks to goodground who put us in contact with Bianco Pumps, we got one for half the price of any other we could find and even the plumber was impressed with it. The pressure in the house now is of a kind we only dreamt of before. Our water is now lovely rainwater and it looks very clean and sparkly!

When we have a shower now, instead of a sort of almost passable amount of water we now have such pressure that it bounces out of the bath !!!"

Value your trees!

martin_headshot.jpg When buying or selling your lifestyle block don't neglect the value of your trees. "Sooner or later we will catch up with people and tax will be paid on trees". This a quote from an IRD officer.
He is of course referring to trees which will provide income. It is in both the buyers and sellers interest to record the value of trees planted on their lifestyle blocks on the sale and purchase agreement.

Don't forget that around 90% of all lifestyle blocks have trees planted on them. Check it out, they may be more valuable than you think! Click here to read more about this issue on goodground.

Next month - your trees are earning you money while you sleep!

Will un-bundling mean un-investing?

me_headshot.jpg Telecom's announcement that they will be opening their network to other providers this month is great news for the future of New Zealand's internet connections. However, it could be bad news for rural dwellers.

Federated Farmers telecommunications spokesman Hugh Ritchie believes that the high costs involved in supplying the rural sector means that there is no guarantee that other service providers will be willing to invest.

Telecom had based it's long term investment plans on a certain set of rules, which included supply to the rural sector, and those rules have now changed with the recent announcements. The farmers federation wants "a standard across the country internet service".

GoodGround backs the federation and will keep you updated with the changes within the industry as they happen. If you have any suggestions or areas we could investigate then PLEASE add your voice to our forum, this is such an important issue for rural dwellers, and for New Zealand as a country - let's make sure they get it right!
