Rural Rip Off!

The Telecom NZ website claims and I quote; “Telecom is committed to providing you with high quality communication services to suit all your needs, enabling you to enjoy the unique benefits of being in the country”.

This is an absolutely ludicrous statement. For at least 25 years I have been waiting for Telecom to deliver on this sort of claim. They maybe committed to doing it but they have never actually done it. I am not normally pessimistic but I doubt if they ever will.

Being charged an exorbitant amount of money for “high speed” internet connection (to most developed countries this would be low speed) is not enabling me to enjoy the benefits of being in the country one single bit and in fact Telecom is responsible for me enjoying the country a lot less!

The frustration of trying to access the internet in rural Northland has led me to disbelieve most of Telecoms statements.

Telecom claims are a Rural Rip-Off which we should all object to by supporting the unbundling process and more competition.
