Find DubDub – Waipu & Ruakaka

Every month we run 2 competitions (in Waipu & Ruakaka), for the local school children to find Dubdub in a nearby shop or business. This is great fun for all, supporting not just the children and their schools but also the local business owners.

Waipu Calf Club

Calf Club is an annual tradition for rural families and schools throughout New Zealand. With one of our offices based in the rural town of Waipu, we like to take some time out to get to know the younger members of our community and support this great event. Martin has been one of the calf club judges for over 10 years! We might bid on a cake or two while we’re there too…

Croquet

The Waipu Croquet Club was founded in 1921. Much time and energy was put into converting rough paddock into level lawns and monthly socials brought in further funds for seed, soil and wages. September 1922 saw Mr A E Snaith and Mr McKay resign from the positions of President and Treasurer, with the gentlemen handing over management of the Club to the Ladies! Generous of them considering croquet was played by women only at the time. The Waipu Croquet Club now has a new club house.

The club was originally founded by local fishing and boating enthusiasts and the club is run and supported today by the local members. Safe and responsible fishing and boating practices are paramount within the club and is fully supported by the clubs members.

Waipu Bowling Club

Back in May 1920, 8 would-be-bowlers met in Waipu and resolved to form a lawn bowls club.  Waipu was a place on the go. Membership grew to 50+ after the war.  Member love the friendliness of the club – It’s not about the winning. Waipu may not be enriching the bowling elite, but they’re certainly nourishing the grass roots.  A formula which we’re looking forward to seeing for another 100 years!
